Privacy policy.
LAST UPDATED · 2 SEPTEMBER 2026 · TECH DIDI, OPERATOR OF REMUSIC
- No account required. No sign-ups, logins, or user profiles.
- No developer backend. Your library, history, favorites, playlists, statistics, and settings are stored only on your device.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or any other purpose.
- Third-party content services. Online features connect directly from your device to YouTube/Google, MusicBrainz, the Cover Art Archive, and LRCLIB (Section 5).
- You stay in control. Uninstalling deletes local data; backups are yours to export or delete at any time.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how Tech Didi ("remusic," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the remusic mobile application (the "App"), available on Google Play and the Apple App Store (including TestFlight). It applies to the App on all platforms on which it is distributed.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide to us
remusic does not require registration or a user account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment details, or password to use the App.
If you contact us directly for support (for example, by emailing mtech.audioservice@gmail.com), we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message — typically your email address, device model, OS version, app version, and the content of your request. We use this solely to respond to and resolve your request, and we do not add it to any marketing list.
1.2 Information stored locally on your device
To power features such as Continue Listening, Daily Mix, Start Radio, Favorites, Playlists, Listening Stats, and the Equalizer/Effects rack, the App stores the following on your device only, in its local app storage (SQLite database and local key-value storage):
- Your on-device music library index (built from the audio files you grant the App access to), including file paths, titles, artist/album names, and technical metadata read from the files
- Playback history, play/skip/completion counts, resume positions, bookmarks, and queue state
- Favorites, playlists, and recently played items
- Download records and downloaded audio files stored in the App's storage or a location you choose
- App settings (equalizer and effects presets, scenes, theme, language, quality settings, sleep timer, etc.)
- Cached artwork, lyrics, and streaming URLs
This data is never uploaded to us or to any third party by the App. It is processed on-device only, and is used solely to operate the App's features (for example, generating your Daily Mix or Radio queue from your own library and history).
If you uninstall the App or clear its data in your device's system settings, all locally stored data is deleted. Downloaded audio files that you chose to save outside the App's storage may remain and can be deleted by you at any time.
1.3 Information processed automatically
When the App connects to the internet — to search and stream audio, resolve download URLs, fetch artwork or lyrics, or refresh the Trending/Daily Top Charts — standard technical information is transmitted as part of any ordinary network request: your IP address, device and network identifiers/headers, and the app version. This is inherent to how internet protocols work.
The App makes these requests directly from your device to the third-party services described in Section 5. We do not route them through our own servers, we do not log them, and we do not combine them into a personal profile.
1.4 Backup files and in-app logs
- Backups. The App's backup & restore feature lets you export your library data (playlists, favorites, history, settings) to a file in a location you select on your device. This file is created and stored entirely on your device — it is not transmitted to us. You are responsible for any backup files you choose to share, move, or keep.
- Logs. The App keeps a small in-app diagnostic log of recent activity to help you (or us, if you choose to send it) troubleshoot problems. Logs remain on your device unless you deliberately copy and send them to us.
1.5 Permissions we request
| Permission | Why it is requested |
|---|---|
Music & audio access (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO; READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12 and older) | To scan and play the audio files already stored on your device |
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | To show the now-playing notification, lock-screen/media-session controls, and download progress |
Modify audio settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS) | To apply the equalizer, effects rack, speed/pitch, and ReplayGain to the audio output |
Wake lock (WAKE_LOCK) | To keep background playback and the media session running smoothly |
| Foreground service (media playback) | To keep playback alive while the App is in the background |
Receive boot completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) | To restore background playback behavior after a device restart |
System alert window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) | Declared for a planned floating-widget feature; currently unused |
remusic never requests access to your contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, camera, location, or microphone, and it never writes to or modifies your existing media files.
1.6 Store distribution and in-app purchases
remusic is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Google and Apple may independently collect information about your device, download, installation, and (if applicable) purchase activity, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy. That processing is governed by their policies and terms, not this Policy.
2. What we do not do
For the avoidance of doubt, remusic:
- Does not require or offer user accounts, and does not maintain user profiles
- Does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information
- Does not use analytics, telemetry, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs
- Does not track your location or use device identifiers to follow you across apps or websites
- Does not engage in "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or similar laws
- Does not access your Google or YouTube account — no sign-in with Google is required for any feature
3. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") applies, we process personal data only where we have a legal basis to do so:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing of locally stored data and requests to third-party content services, as necessary to provide the App's features to you.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Responding to support emails and operating, securing, and improving the App, in ways you would reasonably expect and that do not override your rights.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Where required (for example, certain device permissions on iOS/Android), we ask before accessing; you can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Where retention or disclosure is required by applicable law.
Because the App is offline-first and stores personal data on your device, most processing occurs locally under your control.
4. How we use information
Most "use" of information happens locally, on your device, to power App features. Where we interact with information outside your device (support emails; automatic network data described in Section 1.3), we use it to:
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot problems
- Operate, maintain, and secure the App
- Comply with legal obligations where applicable
We do not use your information for behavioral advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.
5. Third-party services we use
The App connects directly from your device to the following third-party services when you use the corresponding features. We do not insert ourselves between you and these services, and we do not receive copies of what they collect.
5.1 YouTube / Google (YouTube Music)
Used for online search, Radio, Daily Mix, Trending/Daily Top Charts, streaming, and audio downloads. When you use these features, the App sends requests to YouTube and YouTube Music endpoints (including music.youtube.com, youtube.com, and i.ytimg.com) to search content, resolve audio streams, and load thumbnails/artwork. These requests include technical information such as your IP address and standard HTTP headers. Your use of these features is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service. remusic does not require or use Google sign-in, and does not receive your Google account credentials.
5.2 MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive
Used to enrich track metadata and album artwork. Requests go to musicbrainz.org and coverartarchive.org. See the MusicBrainz privacy policy.
5.3 LRCLIB
Used to fetch time-synced lyrics for songs. Requests go to lrclib.net. See the LRCLIB website for details about that service.
5.4 App distribution platforms
As described in Section 1.6, Google Play and the Apple App Store collect their own data about installations and purchases under their own policies.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- With the third-party services in Section 5, as an unavoidable part of delivering the online features you choose to use (requests are made from your device directly to them)
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of remusic, our users, or others
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the App to another operator, in which case we will make reasonable efforts to notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy
7. Data retention and deletion
Because remusic has no accounts and no developer-side storage of your personal data, there is generally no remote copy of your data for us to delete. Your locally stored data (history, favorites, playlists, downloads, settings, backups, logs) is retained on your device for as long as the App is installed, and can be removed at any time by:
- Deleting specific items within the App (history, playlists, downloads, backups)
- Clearing the App's data/storage in your device's system settings
- Uninstalling the App
If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and comply with applicable law. To request deletion of support correspondence we hold, email mtech.audioservice@gmail.com.
8. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the App and the limited information it handles, including storing data within the App's private, sandboxed storage on your device and transmitting requests over HTTPS where the destination service supports it. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
remusic is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the minimum digital-consent age required in your country, if higher) and is not directed to children under that age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the App stores data only on-device, a child's use of the App does not transmit personal data to us. If you believe a child has provided us personal data (for example, through a support email), contact us at mtech.audioservice@gmail.com and we will delete it.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of it, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent.
Because remusic keeps your data on your device and holds no other personal data about you (other than support correspondence), most of these rights are satisfied by the App's design — you control your data by controlling your device: view it in the App, export it with Backup & Restore, or delete it by uninstalling.
- EEA, UK, and Switzerland: You may contact us at mtech.audioservice@gmail.com for anything we do hold (support correspondence), and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law, and we do not discriminate against users who exercise their rights.
- Other regions: Contact us at mtech.audioservice@gmail.com and we will respond to reasonable requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.
11. International data transfers
Requests your device makes to third-party services (Section 5) may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under those providers' terms and safeguards. We do not transfer your personal data anywhere ourselves, because we do not collect it. For details on international transfers by those providers, see their privacy policies linked above.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy as the App evolves — particularly if we ever introduce accounts, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or a backend service. We will revise the "Last updated" date above whenever we do, and for material changes we will provide additional notice where feasible (for example, an in-app notice or an entry in the update changelog). If a future update changes how data is handled, this Policy will be updated before or at the time that update is released, and we will name the specific services involved and provide any choices required by applicable law (such as consent prompts or opt-outs).
13. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or the App's data practices, contact us at Tech Didi (operator of remusic), email mtech.audioservice@gmail.com.
This document is provided for informational purposes and reflects the App's data practices as of the date above. It does not constitute legal advice; if you have specific legal questions, consult a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.
Questions? Ask the operator.
Anything about this policy or the App's data practices, we answer by email.
